2002 Virtual Causeway Employees Support Sunshine Dreams for Kids Event
The 3rd annual Taste of the Town was recently held in support of the local Waterloo-Wellington chapter of Sunshine Dreams for Kids. This year, Virtual Causeway employees, along with major sponsor Scotia McLeod, supported a Hawaiian-themed event for the local charity. The annual Taste of the Town event, now in its third year, was a great success, and raised $14,000 for the Sunshine Dreams for Kids charity.
The backdrop for the event was the Grey Silo Golf Club at Rim Park, which was transformed into the sandy beaches of Maui Complete with great food from seven local restaurants and musical entertainment from Traces Steel Band, the evening ended with a live and silent auction which included some fantastic items donated by local retailers and businesses. The event, decorated with palm trees and exotic plants, was a true Hawaiian experience.
Virtual Causeway employees have supported The Taste of the Town event since its inception in 2000, and kept its streak alive by taking part in the event for the third consecutive year. Employees assisted with the silent auction, ensuring that everyone, including themselves, had a great time. The event could not run without the help of volunteers, and Virtual Causeway's employees were able to play a vital part in the Sunshine Dreams for Kids event.
